Thanks to San Marcos Local News

Thanks Mr. Mansfield we appreciate it!

"Bus to Brooklyn is more rock than Americana, but they have a huge asset in vocalist Jesse Felder, who knows how to belt it out. The whole band is pretty amazing. It’s worth a cover charge, but you won’t pay one at the Gray Horse Saloon (Thank you, Gray Horse guys), so go see ‘em now."

One 2 One Bar in Austin

What an evening we just had......we played in our hometown tonight and had a great show!  Thanks to everyone who came out we had a blast!  We debuted our newest song tonight "Ember From a Fire" and it went over quite well.  We sold some cd's tonight also and thanks to everyone who purchased it means a lot that you are willing to spend you hard earned money on our music it's the greatest compliment a band can recieve I hope you guys come back and join us again real soon.

I can't really explain how playing live makes me feel it's really what keeps me going.  I really can't imagine not playing music........so I won't.  Bus to Brooklyn has set sail and we don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

So it's like 3:30AM right now and frankly I really should be in bed, but I had to say thanks to everybody!  Goodnight and I'll chat with ya soon.
Cheers

The Red Rocket

Okay so I'm writing tonight a little buzzed and it's all because of this one drink......I'm getting ahead of myself it started with James our Bass player's B-day party.  Spence, my wife, and I were there drinking to James's B-day when we decided to go to a bar.............Previously Spence had mentioned this bar to me and he had spoke about the "Red Rocket" which is a drink comprised of every unimaginable liquor you could think of.   Needless to say it was right up our alley.  So the three of us went and order three of the concoctions.  Wow is all I have to say!!!!!

We drank our ass off while listening to James Brown.

The Red Rocket to my recollection consisted of = Canadian Hunter+ Jim Beam+ Jack Daniels+ Crown Royal+ Southern Comfort+ Barcardi 151+ and a spalsh of Cranberry juice and a touch of Pinapple.  Oh my God it makes you freaking wasted.

We followed up the night with going to " The Lodge" on sixth.  I then took Spence and Kelly ( Spence's Girlfriend) back to there apartment.  What an evening I do suggest anyone other than myself needing a DD.  I should've prolly had one and I completely do not condone driving drunk, but I felt fine.......really I did.

It was the end of a rediculous amount of alchohol in a short amount of time.
That's all I have for you tonight for "The Bus" I hope you guys had an awesome Friday night like I did........Happy Birthday James!

Cheers

Great day in the books!

I had a great day today really can't complain a bit.  We practiced tonight and it was a little rough at the start, but this always happens when we are working up a new song.  Should I tell you about the new song.........I don't think so not yet.  I'll wait and let you in on it soon once we have it polished and ready for your ears.  I can tell you our latest creation "Ember from a Fire"  has now become my favorite of the mix.  If you've puchased the album you prolly know that's it's not on our EP, but rest assured it'll be on our next album.

I love when a new song takes shape it's wonderful watching it morph from it's origin to the end result.  Sometimes it turns out to be crap!  Other times it's freakin awesome.  This song builds so well I have a blast singing it!  We've only played two shows with that new song in the line up and thus far it's been a hit.  So to hear it you have to come out and listen up.
Sorry a little bit of salesman just came out of me, yet I speak the truth.

I finished writing the second verse to a new tune earlier today I'm not sure exactly where I want to take the song from here.  Should I go big with it or try and remain more level?  It's strange what living in Hawaii did to me I now get these island rythems coming to me and I can't help but love them. they will make you bob your head though.

Holy crap I have been rambling for a while now I need to get off of this thing.  Thanks for checking out "The Bus" talk to you again tomorrow!

Cheers
Jesse

Why I love music

I just finished listening to John Legend's (Ordinary People).  I can't tell you how much I love that song.  It defines what it is to be a great song!  One Guy + One Piano and that's it......  I hope one day my music can affect others the way that certain songs affect me.  I love my music and love playing it although it's hard to get the same affect when it's yours.

I'm really hitting a block these last two weeks I dunno why my songwriting comes in waves?  I am ready for a breakthorough though!  I have a notebook in my car....beside my bed.....and my chair.

I really like the line "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"  I'm gonna use that.  Quote me.

I wonder if the greats like Lennon and Dylan ever had ruts.  I mean I think even on a horrible day they must have still written incredible stuff. I can't imagine them writing crap although I know they must've I guess they are just sitting to high up on that pedistel.

I'm gonna just write somthing off the top of my head write now.

Don't let chords confuse
this melody I meant to abuse,
or the simple fact of what I am
a tried and true simple man.

Don't hesitate on what you know
or rearrange the way you go
Don't let intimacy go to waste
To make love don't make haste

I get that good things happen slow
So keep this path stay to what you know
A boy that grownup to be man
maybe a star is born from a fan.

Well that's all I got for tonight
Peace
Jesse

Camper Shell

Goodness someone needs to tell these Truck accessory places that campers are to expensive for musicians to afford.  I'm gonna make it work, but man oh man it's gonna take a hit on the pocket book.  If anyone up there wants to drop us some money from heaven or your bank accounts we'd love it........waiting........waiting.   Maybe I'll get a delayed answer.  Hopefully all that will happen soon.

I chatted with Matt today and I think he is investing in some new drum cases.  Matt and I over the holiday's stripped and sanded his drum set then stained and clearcoated them.  I think they look awesome.  He also got a new Kick Pedal.  Which has made his bass kicks badass.

Well that's all I got for you today chat with yall tomorrow.
Cheers

Radio Promotion/News

Coming soon we are going to list all of the stations that we have submitted our music to.  On the 19th we will be actively playing on numerous radio stations nationwide.  Please keep checking back for where you can help out the Bus to Brooklyn by making requests for our music.  We'd love it if you could call stations even out of town/state.

This week we played our first show in Ft. Worth and had a great time thanks to Taylor for letting us crash at her place (very comfortable carpet!!!).  We played at "The Aardvark" and opened for Josh Tatum.  He was great and we had a blast.  We also enjoyed drinking with everyone thanks to the Coors/Miller reps who gave us so much refreshment!  AHHH!

Our new Bass Player James Gibson is doing great and he just finished his second show with us tonight at Antones in Austin.

I guess I'm a dumbass

Alright, so I found out today that my blog post on our website if pretty horrible.......hmmmm.   I was told they make us look pretty dumb.  Well I'll tell all of you that read this, that I have horrible grammar and I just don't care really.  I'm gonna post whatever I feel and hopefully it's comprehensible.  I'm just trying to share my thoughts however random.  That's all I'm ever going to say about this matter and I guess if yall can get over this minor hickup so can I.   Hope to see all of you at our next show and take care.
